Appointments

Getting help is very easy – just click the button below to book an appointment.

If you are not sure whether therapy would be right for you, or have any questions or concerns I am very happy to discuss this with you. I understand it is an important decision. Just get in touch and I will help you in any way I can.

Session format

Sessions are offered both in person and online, however, due to current coronavirus restrictions please check options for face-to-face contact on booking your appointment. Online therapy can be a very effective and time efficient option, and means I offer my services throughout the UK and beyond. For those who prefer a more traditional approach and live locally, I offer in person therapy. In person therapy is advised for certain issues and therapeutic approaches, which we can discuss together to ensure the best fit for you.

Fees and charges

I charge £110 per session, however, reductions apply for some types of online therapy and personal circumstance. Individual sessions are 50-60 minutes in duration, unless agreed by prior arrangement with adjustment to my fee.

If you wish to pay via your health insurance policy, please mention this to me during your initial discussion as I have separate fees for insurers.

Requests for psychological reports, letters and other additional substantial administration tasks are charged at a fixed hourly rate.

Quotes for corporate work, teaching and training packages as well as prices for groups and workshops can be provided upon request.

Payment

Self-funding clients should pay by direct bank transfer, cash or cheque made payable to ‘Dr Jenny Makinson’.  For longer-term therapy, or where payment is made by an insurer or other third party monthly payment via email invoice can be agreed on discussion.

Insurance

Some clients may wish to use their health insurance to cover the cost of their therapy. Please check whether your policy will cover our sessions, and how many sessions they will cover over what timeframe. Plans vary, so please find out your specific cover before booking your first appointment. Please also inform me as early as possible of your intent to cover the cost of sessions using insurance so I can advise over adjusted insurer fees.

I am registered with the main health insurance companies. If I am not registered with your health insurance company, I will offer therapy as an out of network provider. This means that rather than being paid directly by your health insurance provider, you must cover the initial cost of sessions yourself and then claim these back from the insurer. I will provide an invoice for you to send to your insurance provider.

If your provider has any questions about the process or my services, please ask them to contact me directly.

Cancellation policy

In order to provide an efficient and responsive service to all my clients, I have a 48 hour cancellation policy. Once your appointment has been confirmed, if it is cancelled with less than 48 hours notice, or if you fail to attend a scheduled appointment, you will be charged in full for the session.

In exceptional circumstances, requests to reschedule a session with less than 48 hours notice will be accommodated where possible, however, cannot be guaranteed.

All information processed and retained is compliant with General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), as well as professional and legal duties as a healthcare professional.
